Jayme Hudspith gives us the low-down on the best fashion gifts ands stocking fillers this Christmas
I don’t know about you but Christmas seems to have snuck up on me. To avoid panic buying things people will never want, or need, I have compiled some of the easiest and most appreciated gifts that are guaranteed to be useful!
The closer we get to Christmas the colder it seems to get outside and as a result I think it is safe to say pyjamas or onesies, dressing gowns, slippers and even socks are a present anyone would be happy to receive. Yes, even socks, the present we use to dread as children has become the perfect gift which just shows how old we have all gotten… But really, who wouldn’t love some fluffy bed socks with a snowman or a Christmas pudding on your toes?
Match those fluffy socks with a fleeced, soft, fluffy onesie and you’ll be as snug as a bug in a rug. Whether you want to go all out and be the symbol of Christmas or if you’re a bit more of a Grinch and want a plain version you can wear all year around, there is the something out there for every preference! I’m a Christmas baby so you’ll see me sporting this grey polar bear onesie this year.
If staying tucked away at home hiding from the cold isn’t the right idea for you then why not go all out and treat someone special to a new bag this season? Embrace the beauty of the Christmas season with a bejewelled bag.Brands such as Topshop and River Island have gorgeous bejewelled clutches, side bags and cross body bags in every colour, from your classic black to more festive colours such as red and green and even shades of pink for the bolder characters. Fret not that come Christmas day, all the Christmas parties will be over and it will be too late to put these bags to good use because they’ll go perfectly with any party dress for New Year’s Eve.
Also the bolder colours like pink, green and red will be perfect for the upcoming summer season, while the black will remain a timeless classic for any occasion.
Lastly, we all know Spring is just as cold, if not colder than winter. So, a matching hat, scarf and gloves set would make a great stocking filler for anyone. All fashion retail stores have an abundance of sets in a range of fabrics, prices and styles. My personal favourite has to be a grey and cream set from Accessorise and the neutral colours will match any outfit and bring a little bit of brightness to the cold and bleak winter mornings.
If you act quick you can grab all of these gifts at bargain prices online during cyber Monday, if not don’t worry, many stores this time of year are running promotions on their winter stock to reduce the amount of stock they’ll have left for Boxing Day sales.
