The beauty launches of 2018 did not fail to impress. Jeffree Star’s BLOODSUGAR palette and Morphe x James Charles’ Artistry palette collaboration were a hit, then Fenty Beauty took the stage at the beginning of 2019 with the addition of more foundations, concealers in 50 different shades and even face powders. Now it’s February, here are some of the best recent beauty launches.
Firstly, let’s talk about the ‘Morphe x Jeffree Star Brush and Trio Sponge Collection’, exclusive only on Morphe.com and Morphe stores. Jeffree Star’s collaboration with Morphe is independent of Jeffree Star Cosmetics and has been in the works since 2016. All in Jeffree’s signature pink, the trio sponge collection includes one highlight and contour beauty sponge and two mini highlight and contour beauty sponges for £16. The brush collection includes 7 custom eye and face brushes with a brush bag included – all for £48. It was so popular on release it has sold out on Morphe’s website with all items of the collection unavailable. After being all swept up Morphe has promised for the two collections to be back soon, so we’ll have to keep an eye out for our chance to snatch up this iconic collaboration.
KKW Beauty also surprised us with the ‘Best of Reds, Pinks and Nudes Lipstick Sets’ and ‘Red Crème Lip Liners’. With four different shades in each lipstick sets you can switch from Best of Pinks Warm Plum to Best of Reds Candy Apple Red. All lipstick sets are packaged in a clear Lucite box. The collection is available on KKWbeauty.com for $65 (£50) as a set and $18 (£14) for an individual lipstick. Additional to the lipstick sets KKW Beauty has introduced the ‘Red Crème Lip Liners’, which contrast perfectly with the new Best of Reds range, with shades deep crimson, orange red, true red and vivid blue red at $12 (£10). A perfect pairing for the Best of Reds lipstick kit.
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna also made a move for Valentine’s Day by dropping five new products, causing a stir with two brand new highlighters and three new Stunna Lip Paint shades. For the new ‘Stunna Lip Paint’ shades you have ‘Unlocked’, an intense pink shade; ‘Unattached’, a bright coral shade and ‘Undefeated’, a hot purple shade, a daring colour for those who aren’t used to wearing such dark shades of purple. The new lip paints are £19 each. For Fenty Beauty’s new highlighters, they are both pastel shades and are joining the ‘Killawatt’ highlighter family, the first being a baby pink shimmer called ‘Wattabrat’ and the second highlighter is ‘Chillz’, an iridescent baby blue shimmer. They can both be purchased for £28 and can be used on the eyes, cheek body or anywhere else that needs a little pastel shimmer. The five new products are now available at fentybeauty.com, Sephora and Harvey Nichols.
Finally, beautyblender, another brand everyone recognises has launched the ‘Re-Dew Set & Refresh Spray’. A mist spray to refresh, set and illuminate the skin has been introduced to beautyblender lovers with the promise that the super blend will leave no dry patches, no caking, no fading and no dullness. Whether you use it after applying your full face or as a hydration boost throughout the day, your face will be snatched all day. They even suggest that instead of just using the product on your face that you spritz some on your beautyblender sponge for a better application. Get flawless skin with the ‘Re-Dew Set & Refresh Spray’ for $30 (£24) on beautyblender.com.
