November is here and that can only mean one thing: ITV’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here is back! Hosted by Newcastle’s favourite comedy duo Ant and Dec, the reality series returns for its 19th season after debuting in 2002.
This season will mark Ant’s return to the series after a one-year hiatus, being temporarily replaced by guest-host Holly Willoughby. Filmed in an Australian jungle, I’m a Celeb sees twelve “celebrities” live in a camp and participate in challenging Bushtucker Trials over three weeks to win the coveted title of King or Queen of the Jungle.
This year sees one of the most talked about I’m a Celeb line-ups in recent years, as ITV have finally convinced Olympian and Keeping up with the Kardashians alum Caitlyn Jenner to participate in the British show. After reportedly spending £500,000 to secure Jenner for this series, producers are likely hoping she’ll reveal some gossip and truths about the Kardashian household. As one of the biggest activists in the LGBTQ+ community today and her past as a competitive Olympian, Jenner will likely be a memorable contestant in the jungle.
Joining Jenner is Capital Radio DJ and presenter Roman Kemp, who is fulfilling his dream of entering the camp. No stranger to the entertainment industry thanks to his musical parents Martin Kemp and Shirlie Holliman, viewers will likely have seen Kemp on their screens in Celebrity First Dates and Celebrity Gogglebox or heard him as the lead host of the Capital Breakfast Show. He claims to not be afraid of insects or the eating trials, so it will be interesting to see how he’ll react if he gets voted for a trial.
Next up is former Girls Aloud member Nadine Coyle. The Irish singer claims she is scared of everything, which doesn’t help when you’re entering an Australian jungle filled with wildlife. Like Jenner, producers are likely hoping she’ll reveal some secrets about former bandmate Cheryl Cole, who Coyle was rumoured to have a feud with during their time in Girls Aloud.
Will there be an obvious winner or will someone rise as the under-dog?
Also joining Jenner, Kemp and Coyle is former footballer Ian Wright MBE, who was inspired after Harry Redknapp’s win last year; rugby player James Haskell; Eastenders star Jacqueline Jossa; Rak-Su singer Myles Stephenson; Ex on the Beach narrator Andrew Maxwell; marathon runner Adele Roberts and Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway. As always, will there be an obvious winner, or will someone rise as the under-dog on this year’s I’m a Celebrity…Get me out of Here!
