I haven't always been the streaming platforms kind of person. Netflix is still a relatively new concept to me, let alone the bombardment of content on Disney+. However, there has been a significant rise in streaming platforms over the last few years— such as Hulu, Amazon Prime, Apple TV and HBO Max (and I'm sure I'm still missing a few but you get the point).

For the most part, we are the Netflix generation with trends like "Netflix and chill" shaping the romantic etiquette for years to come. But the streaming culture doesn't stop there, with multiple ones launching consecutively. It's almost as if for every show or movie, there is a new streaming platform. It also means that with Covid closing the cinema halls and the premiere of new television shows, streaming content has taken over the viewing culture. There is something everywhere for everyone.

For instance, I'm an avid Marvel fan, or I used to be until the main Avengers got killed off (and yes, I'm looking at you Tony Stark, Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff). Yet, I still have a soft spot for Bucky Barnes and the insanely powerful Wanda Maximoff. So if you ask me right away, I might impulsively say that a Disney+ subscription is worth purchasing since both The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Wandavision are airing this year

But at the same time, despite the overload of new shows on Disney+, I am still sticking to Netflix and Amazon Prime. It's really a matter of which content attracts people the most, and it's different for everyone. Even though I'm Marvel fan, I still had my doubts about getting the Disney+ subscription. Since content is divided on various platforms, it doesn't seem like a feasible idea to be subscribed to everything launched day after day. Moreover, there is already a lot of content available on Netflix and Prime, with more and more old films and television series being uploaded every week.

So, it's a question you have to ask yourself. Would you prefer to stick with finishing everything on one streaming platform, or would you rather cherry-pick from several?
