Expect another joyful season of RuPaul failing to grasp British humour, the notorious Ru-Peter badges, and a sickening supply of home-grown guest judges. So far announced to be joining Ru this season are Dawn French, Lorraine Kelly, and Gemma Collins. Dawn French joked that she was not looking forward to COVID-secure filming because she “really do want to touch Ru!” Don’t we all? If the judges are separated by screens, let us just hope Gemma Collins does not get claustrophobic.
Where is the Newcastle representation?
The 12 fierce new Queens have also been revealed. No shade but half are London performers, where is the Newcastle representation? Choices. This season's Queen’s include:
Bimini Bon Boulash, a “non-binary creature of the night” who invented veganism 7 years ago, obviously. There is also a drag queen with a classically British name, Tia Kofi, from the girl-group The Vixens, here to “Beyoncé herself”. Another fan favourite seems to be Cherry Valentine from Darlington, serving us some Northern Pride with her highly polished spooky aesthetic.

Many of this season’s Queens have truly gag-worthy Instas and the quality of the pride-themed promo looks rivals that of Season 13 Drag Race US. This promises to be a season of jaw-dropping high fashion runways and all the joy of Drag Race with a distinctively British edge.
