After brushing aside Sassuolo in a convincing 2-0 victory, Napoli further stretched their lead at the top of the table to 15 points.

Gli Azzuri seek to claim their first Scudetto since the days of the late Diego Maradona in 1990, and they are doing so in style.

After impressing with a top 3 finish in 21/22, Luciano Spalletti turned to the transfer market in their quest to add further quality to the Naples outfit. Notable additions include the Georgian prodigy Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, South Korean centre back Kim Min-jae, and former Premier League central midfielder, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa.

With Min-jae and Anguissa proving to be vital in strengthening the spine of the team, Kvaratskhelia has been the man that has stolen the headlines. He has hit the ground running and successfully combined with Victor Osimhen to create one of the most clinical duos in Europe. Between the two of them they have scored over 30 goals with Osimhen proving to be the main finisher, and Kvaratskhelia deploying his expertise in the playmaking department having already notched his assist tally into double figures.

In addition to their hunt for their first league title in over 30 years, Napoli are appearing to be a threat on Europe’s grandest stage, the UEFA Champions League. With many thinking their sensational opening 4-0 win against last year’s runners-up, Liverpool, being a flash in the pan, they have demonstrated they are force to be reckoned with after sealing top spot in their group.

After being drawn against the reigning Europa League champions, Eintracht Frankfurt, they made light work of the first leg at the Deutsche Bank Park after a 2-0 win.

Although in true Napoli fashion their scintillating season has come with a few hiccups, particularly in the Coppa Italia. Expecting it to be a routine win for Napoli, they squared up to Serie A strugglers, Cremonese in the Round of 16. After a late equaliser, Cremonese were successful in holding on for penalties, in consequence they went onto cause one of the shocks of the tournament and win 5-4 on penalties.

However, do not let this bump in the road distract you from Napoli steaming ahead in their league campaign. After so many years of heartbreak it seems they are on a trajectory to end their 33 years of hurt.
