Northern fashion stands out mainly because of its bold and original designers and style. Unlike the polished styles we often see in London, designers from cities like Manchester and Leeds experiment with unique fabrics, bright colours, and edgy cuts. Their work feels more real and is inspired by street culture, music, and everyday life. Many of them come from simple backgrounds, which keeps their creativity grounded and authentic. This fearless approach is exactly why Northern fashion deserves more attention.
Another thing that really impressed me is the influencers of Northern fashion. When I am scrolling through Instagram or TikTok, I find so many creators from Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle who have such a natural sense of style. They don’t just blindly follow trends; instead of this they mix and match pieces in a very creative way. Honestly, their confidence is quite inspiring. They show that fashion doesn’t have to be super expensive or designer to look stylish. Many of them promote local brands and thrifted outfits, which feels very relatable, especially for students like us. Coming from India, where influencers are also growing so fast, I can clearly see how Northern creators are building their own community and encouraging young people to express themselves. Their fashion is not just for show; it feels personal, comfortable and full of attitude.
After seeing the fashion scene in the North, I honestly feel it deserves a lot more attention. The designers are bold, the influencers feel very real, and the local brands have meaningful stories and their feelings, their purpose behind them. Northern fashion has its own culture and creativity instead of copying others. As an Indian student in the UK, it’s refreshing to see style that is simple, honest, and connected to everyday people. I truly believe the world should look beyond the usual fashion capitals and support the talent growing here, because it can bring a fresh new wave of inspiration.
