After a long year of working, or even just surviving, it's time to relish in the peace that comes with the indoors. Some kind of reflective refractory period, if you will. Indulge yourself in seasonal gimmicks, in festive movies, in fluffy socks, in hot chocolate and whipped cream.
The bitter cold is a harsh yet needed reminder - the world keeps turning.
No matter what state you're in, or what you've gone through over the course of the year, the bitter cold is a harsh yet needed reminder - the world keeps turning. You'll always come back to yourself, it's written in nature. What's lost for in daylight is made up in love, in little interactions. When you're surrounded by family and friends and there's nothing but infinite warmth, you have more than enough to power you through this season.
So thank you, Winter, for giving us all a minute to exhale. For the bitter cold to shock our body into remembering what we're doing this for. Limited by distractions, we can think and play and love and reflect and do this all at home in our pyjamas and a new dressing gown. Because at the end of the day, the leaves grow back, and the flowers grow again, and the sun will beat again. You can miss the Summer for a second, but don't ever forget to take a pause and see the magic that Winter brings, in smiles, in hugs, in laughter, in Christmas presents. So yeah, thank you Winter, I will love you forever.
