Animation can tell some wonderful stories too. Animated films can be overlooked sometimes as live-action films are the bread and butter of the entertainment industry, along with being released less overall due to how hard animation is to produce. In this article, I will be giving animation the spotlight as I give a short list on animated films that are absolutely worth watching in my opinion, some you may have definitely seen and others you may not have heard of.
I Want To Eat Your Pancreas (2018)

Despite the alarming title, this is a film that will strike you as heartbreakingly beautiful. When you don't have much time left, what do you do? With vibrantly pretty art, this film depicts a blossoming friendship between a boy and a girl who supposedly doesn't have much time left. Begrudging at first, the boy befriends the girl as she aims to do all the things she wants to do with the little time she has on her hands. You are taken on a detour from their highschool lives that shows their special bond develop and knit its way into your heart, but right from the beginning it is known that time is ticking - Time to be made the most of. Once you watch this film, the title alone cements itself as a part of the feels trip.

Spiderman: Into/Across the Spider-verse (2018, 2023)

Taking the world by storm in 2018 and 2023 respectively, the Spider-verse saga is hailed as a modern classic in animation. It follows the story of Miles Morales, the "one and only spiderman", as, like any other Spiderman story, he comes to grips with his newfound powers. However, the multiversal aspect of this series of films sets it apart as something much bigger. With a tastefully creative comic book art style and wonderfully cartoony animation, Miles Morales' chaotic, emotional journey in and around the multiverse is nothing short of breathtaking, fully immersing you into its world(s) as it lays out one of the most compelling animated stories in recent years. The Spider-verse saga is a modern must-see, and you will undoubtedly be left yearning for more. The release of the final film in the trilogy - Beyond the Spider-verse - is highly anticipated by all, Spiderman fan or not.
