You can still dress to impress on a budget.

With the limited budgets available for many starting university this week, clothes may not be on the forefront of everyone's mind. While you have grown out of your high school threads or simply do not fancy wearing the same outfit you wore last autumn to university, these are three outfits you can put together quickly and easily, each under £50 pounds. With daily seminars, lectures and nights out, suitable attire is a must and not everything can be resolved with a last minute 'jeans and a nice top'! It will all be worth when that little bit more effort into those outfits results in a stress-less packed social calendar for the term ahead.

The Autumn Trend: 70's

Beige jumper: New Look, £22.99, Tie-up choker: Topshop, £8.50, Suede leggings: New Look, £9.99

The 70's trend is very popular right now and autumn is the perfect time to take full advantage of the rustic colour scheme. Tie the choker up high, letting its longer laces trail down the front of the sweater and pair the suede leggings with black boots for a youthful take on some of the decade's heavier looks!

Cool Girl Parisian

Stretch skinny trousers: New Look, £20, 'Forever Love' T-shirt: River Island, £20

Slightly undone French chic has been something that university girls have wanted to replicate for decades. This season's emphasis on light checks gives you the perfect platform to play around with slogan t-shirts. This Gucci-esque one screams style without going overboard on the print or the colour scheme, making it a perfect fit with most jackets. Slap on some red lips and no other makeup to really go all out without sacrificing the French 'can't-be-botheuurred' attitude.

Studio 54 Diva

Jumpsuit: New Look, £24.99, Metal necklace: New Look, £9.74

This look requires minimal effort and almost no preparation, so if you want to put it on on your way back from university, it will not be a problem. The easy-wear fabric and shoulder and leg coverage mean that shaving and fake tan are not necessary and you simply need to mess up your hair and apply plenty of glitter eyeshadow to go straight to nightclub wow factor, just like the rocking Studio 54 in the 1970's. What a way to stick to the trends!
