Mo Handahu, known by her blog name Lion Hunter, is the epitome of cool with her ultra-glam Afro-Bohemian vibe (think Holly Golightly meets Erikah Badu). Mo is a fashion and lifestyle blogger from Canada, who also happens to be ‘plus-size’. Her attention to detail is unrivaled; many of her outfits look like they could be featured in Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar. There are statement pieces in every outfit, and each image is a sartorial work of art.

As a plus-size woman who loves fashion, it helps to see stylish outfits and trends on bodies that resemble my own. I follow several plus-size bloggers, and many of them just wear pretty clothes but what I love about Mo is that she makes outfits that are super glamorous, audacious and sexy. She is confidently bold and mixes prints and patterns better than anyone I’ve seen on the blogosphere. She is not afraid to rock a full skirt in a gingham print with a polka dot chambray button down or throw on a pair of high waist boyfriend jeans with a cropped baggy sweater.

I like Mo because she reminds me to wear things that make me feel good. Just because I happen to have a bit more body to dress, it doesn’t mean that I have to hide it behind baggy black shrouds of fabric. She has taught me a lot about dressing a bigger body fashionably, and in ways that aren’t “nice” but daring. If you are going to wear black, make it a zebra print top paired with pencil pant and a bold red lip. Don’t let your size limit you to basic fashion. She plays with shapes and silhouettes that plus size women are often told they shouldn’t even approach. She is not afraid to stand out: when it comes to her clothing choices she isn’t just stepping outside of the box, she is standing on top of the box screaming look at me!! And it works. I happen to think her best accessory is her megawatt smile, which she always pairs with a bright lip and a clean face; to me she is fearless.

Mo has long been an avid supporter of the tutu trend, and pushed it to a whole new level recently with her tutu series, where she made 4 custom tutus and created 20 stunning outfits using them. Each look was mind-blowing and completely original – she looked incredible.

If you are feeling like your wardrobe is a bit drab, I would definitely recommend perusing Mo’s Instagram: she will be just the inspiration that you need, plus size or not!
