Christmas Light Shows Around the World

December is the time of the year when many light show festivals around the world take place. Combined with our festive mood, experiencing these shows leaves in us unforgettable memories. Even though this year everything is different and many of the shows have been cancelled, here are the most interesting to add on a travel bucket list for the future.

1 Caretta Shiodome Winter Illumination, Tokyo, Japan

Tokyo is known for its wonderful winter illuminations across the city. However, one of the best must be in Shiodome with a different theme each year. It usually runs from mid-November to mid-February.

2 Luci d’Artista, Salerno, Italy

Even though the theme changes each year in Salerno as well, there are some recurring Christmas tourist attractions, such as the Christmas tree, live music and The Ferris Wheel of Salerno with breath-taking views overlooking the whole area.  

3 Floating Christmas Tree, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The Christmas tree in Rio de Janeiro is very special, as it is not only shining beautifully but also the tallest floating Christmas tree in the world. If you happen to be around at the time of the tree being lit, you’ll witness the extraordinary musical and firework show.

4 Silver Dollar City, Branson, Missouri

The US is well-known for its extravagant Christmas decoration. However, The Silver Dollar City is just an ordinary 1880s-style theme park… until, in the early November, it transforms into colourfully illuminated Christmas wonderland.
