Talks of Dodge re-entering in 2022 after their exit in 2012 were the prelude to the current spike in interest, with the talks heating up again after NASCAR COO Steve O’Donnell mentioned negotiations were “heating up” with a fourth manufacturer.
According to Marshall Pruett in his latest podcast episode, Honda fans who like NASCAR are “probably going to be really happy here in the future.” There are hopes that this would make up for the loss of Honda from IndyCar, who pulled out due to rising operation costs.
