If you’re the type to follow a strict Christmas day regime, or a family who goes out for Christmas lunch, you’ve got to remember to balance glamour with appropriateness for a day with the grandparents. Avoid short skirts and dresses, or wear a pair of cute tights like some sparkly ones or ones with a fine print. Very festive! It’s always fun to go with a bit of fur, fluff or feathers (all faux of course). Or, some extravagant sequins or silk. No better time to go all out than to play board games with your uncle who doesn’t even know what Vogue is.
However, if you’re the type to wake up hanging from one-too-many mulled wines at the pub on Christmas Eve, there are many festive pyjama sets to laze about in while you open your presents. There’s nothing better for a hangover than a chill day with a huge roast, with no pressure to do anything other than watch Home Alone. Think matching with reindeers all over them, or for a more subtle look, opt for a matching silk set. If you want to take a leaf out of the Kardashians’ book, you could even get the whole family in on it and match your festive PJs together. Not sure what my dad would think of that one though.
Of course, there’s got to be a special mention for the Christmas jumpers. Although maybe not the height of fashion, they do have a special place for bringing festive cheer … I can’t say I’d be out in one on the street, but I can make an exception for Christmas Day! When it comes to the 25th, I think that dressing up festively (sparkles, fur and sequins all included) makes the whole day that much more special. Festive fashion is some of the best of the year!
