Fish56Octagon has become a music phenomenon in the dance music scene, despite starting out on TikTok with his car enthusiast videos. Now the esteemed DJ shows himself dressed in dapper dressing gowns while spinning some first-rate tunes on social media, whilst booking the biggest festivals in the UK.
In his first headline show in Newcastle, the ‘FishTales’ tour arrived at NX to put on a jam packed 2+ hour set of every genre under the sun. His club concept of ‘FishTales’ flaunts a multi-genre party of House, UKG, Trance, Techno and many more, providing a high energy atmosphere for dancing.
Opening with some bouncy House, Fish56Octagon kicked off his lengthy set with nothing but a quality atmosphere to commence a long night of sweaty dancing. The set took a journey through a multitude of dance music genres, and whilst the music kept a high tempo with an ever-increasing BPM, the crowd at points found it difficult to keep up. When the mixing landed on techno, the set hit a lull, which ravers took as an opportunity to hit the bar, smoking area and toilets for a break.
Whilst techno sets can facilitate hits of dopamine, if you aren’t a dedicated fan then the repetitive beats can sometimes get tedious (and induce a bit of a headache). The cruise to the next genre took a bit longer than necessary, and fans looked relieved when Fish56Octagon’s trance-like blends began to fade in.
Despite having such a prolonged set, the humble DJ kept the energy high throughout, and set the bar high for DJs across the country with his immense talent on the decks.
