Cold feet… I turn over in bed, restless. I can't leave, I'm in too deep now. But this relationship is a toxic one.

Fourteen years of Mike Ashley. Steve Bruce at the helm. No attendance at St. James' permitted. 17th in the table, flirting with the relegation zone. As far as rough patches go, this one is a doozy. The only thing keeping things remotely bearable is this new 'ASM' (Allan Saint-Maximin) we've been trying, which has really been doing it for us. Still, something's off.

Don't get me wrong, I love Newcastle United. I always will. But recently, it feels a little distant between us. The spark is still there, but it has dampened. This Valentine's Day was a quiet one - an awkward one. I still caught the game on Monday but found myself largely unphased witnessing Chelsea emerge comfortably victorious in a 2-0 contest. In years gone by, any loss would pain me. But now, I find myself secretly approving of the dropped points. They might lead to something new, something fresh - a change in management, perhaps?

Oren describes his experience of feeling distant from 'The Toon'

A lot of relationships are bound to have moments like these, I'm sure. I won't turn my back on my one and only - this commitment is for life. I'm willing to change for this to work. Please, Newcastle, be willing to change as well.
