How to Celebrate this Galentine's Day

Valentine's Day isn't all about romantic love. Platonic love is just as fulfilling...if not more!

Whether you're single or coupled up this February, Galentine's Day is just around the corner, and it's the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with your favourite friends.

Here are 15 ways to spend this Galentine's Day with your loved ones.

  1. Wine glass painting

Now, you may be thinking, 'I don't have the artistic capabilities for that' - but I promise it's easier than it looks! Just grab a wine glass from the cupboard, order some paint pens (make sure they're suitable for glass), open Pinterest for some ideas, and voila!

  1. Candle painting

You may have seen this activity trending on TikTok and fancied giving it a go, well now is the perfect chance! This one is a little bit trickier, so don't be disheartened if your candles end up looking slightly abstract. All you need is a pillar candle of your choice and some smaller coloured candles to steal the wax from.

  1. Game night

Who doesn't love a game night?

  1. Paint and sip

A classic arts and crafts activity. Grab some mini canvases, paints and your drink of choice (best paired with a side of gossip).

  1. Baking

The world is your oyster here. Anything heart-shaped is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser when baking with your friends on Galentine's Day.

  1. Decorate cookies, cupcakes or a cake

Again, bonus points if they're heart-shaped. You can find some cookie decorating kits at your local M&S!

  1. Charcuterie board

This can be as simple as a pre-picked pack from Tesco and a block of cheese, or as extravagant as the charcuterie boards found on Pinterest. You may also choose to pair it with a bottle of wine and a butterboard.

  1. Secret Cupid

Exchange some heartfelt gifts with your loved ones this Galentine's Day. As much as we'd all love to participate in a Jellycat exchange, don't fret if you're on a tight budget - heartfelt letters are just, if not more, meaningful!

  1. Make friendship bracelets

Popularised by Taylor Swift fans, friendship bracelet making can be the perfect activity for this 13 February.

  1. Heart-shaped pizzas

Think 'Pizza Hut' but a little more classy. Grab your girls and put on a rom-com in the background whilst you get to work!

  1. Movie night

Who can go wrong with a movie marathon? My personal Galentine's Day choices would be Bridesmaids, 13 Going On 30, and 10 Things I Hate About You.

  1. Chocolate strawberries

Pouring melted chocolate over strawberries in wine glasses has got to be the most lavish snack for any Galentine's Day activity.

  1. Scrapbooking

Therapeutic? Check. Sentimental? Check. Fun? Check.

  1. Themed cocktails/mocktails

My personal choice would be a cosmopolitan with edible glitter, edible love hearts and no hangover.

  1. Clueless and a cocktail masterclass at Tyneside Cinema

Go all-out this Galentine's Day with a cocktail masterclass and a screening of Clueless at Tyneside Cinema. Sounds like the perfect night to me.
