You’ll hear the same advice over and over, and never think much of it.

So I’ll say this. Say yes to everything. Go for those drinks, stay in for a pizza night, dress up, don’t dress up. Respect your boundaries, but do as much as possible. You’ll never be this young, naive, and stupid ever again. Go make memories.

There are so many exciting parts of university life that you won’t see in the first week

But, don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Despite what everyone seems to say, Freshers’ week probably won’t be the best part of your university experience. There are so many exciting parts of university life that you won’t see in the first week, and so many different ways to spend Freshers’ week that are all equally acceptable. Try and get to know some new people, but don’t panic if you don’t because there’s going to be so many opportunities in the future!

Try remember the little things too. Call your parents, or your siblings. Take a good water bottle, you can use them for everything and take them everywhere. Don’t forget to stock up on your medicine cabinet - you’ll need it. Especially dilutable vitamin C tablets or Berocca, thank me later.

That’s about it - now, go enjoy it. You’ll never get to do it again.
