Introducing... Sea Galls

Are you thinking of pushing yourself out of your comfort zone? Do you like the sea? Do you want to be part of a group of like-minded girls? If yes, Sea Galls might be the next best thing for you. 

Sea Galls are a sea-swimming community for students in the North East, started by two friends who moved up to Newcastle from Guernsey. Inspired by their childhood by the sea, as they said on their Instagram, “sea swimming has always been really important to us and something that we love to do”. They have set up Sea Galls “with the aim to connect to like-minded people and lovers of the sea for wholesome Sunday morning swims”. 

You don’t have to be a strong swimmer to take part, so this is open to everyone! You can take part in a longer swim, or even just a cold plunge in the sea. 

What are the benefits of sea-swimming?

2. Boost self-esteem – being out of your comfort zone gives you a huge sense of accomplishment
