It's Alive! Elon Musk's Humanoid AI's

With the announcement of Elon Musk's new robots, is the AI take-over on the horizon for humanity?

Elon Musk’s Tesla is promising to sell a humanoid robot…could it be the first of many? I sincerely hope not!

Elon Musk announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that ‘Tesla will have genuinely useful humanoid robots in low production for Tesla internal use next year’, I mean please, whatever next?

For decades, people have been trying to prove that Humanoid Robot’s would have their uses in a mainstream society, but until now they have merely remained in the dystopian, a part of fiction, something that teacher’s joke about in school’s. ‘One Day a computer will be teaching you lot, be grateful you have us’ and now it’s looking more and more likely that Mrs. Mears, my Year 8 Maths Teacher, was right all along.

I mean my main query (shall we say) over this is do we actually, really need these AI generated bots? Especially when we have actual human-being’s to help with the every day function of society, believe it or not. The most envisaged roles for these bots are in factories and to aid with manual roles, to help relief the stress of the dull and dreary tasks for manual worker’s.

Do we actually, really need these AI generated bots, when we have actual human-being’s to help with the every day function of society, believe it or not.

But we have already seen a growing use for these machines in the sex industry with robotic sex dolls spiking in popularity, which has led to some moral and cultural outcry. So, if they can be used to fulfil someone’s sexual desires fantasies, it begs the question, what else could they be used for? I mean not to go all conspiracy theorist but, The Handmaid’s Tale anyone!

But there are also ethical concerns surrounding how they are built and the numerous engineering challenges that comes with them too, such as achieving flexible locomotion on different terrain, which took humans four million years to do. So although it’s impressive where we’re at with AI and Humanoid’s, I just keep thinking to myself, is this really worth all the effort?

Look, they might have a purpose, they may  revolutionise manual labour in a culture where careers are evolving, as is life, at such a fast pace. They may revolutionise day to day living and make it easier for us all but with Musk promising that they will outsmart us humans (the previous top dog’s) we must be sceptical and curious as to how they are going to be introduced to our society.

As I say, maybe I’m wrong, maybe this will be a game-changing break-through that Musk and his crew have come up with but personally I just don’t see it (maybe it’s just the fear talking).
