No matter what mood the big day has left you in, one show in particular will have you crying with laughter come Christmas night. For the second year running, Michael McIntyre returns to our screens to present his Christmas special. One of the country’s favourite comedians of recent years, Michael McIntyre’s Big Christmas Show offers the perfect end to your Christmas Day.
Guests on his Very Christmassy Christmas Show last year included a mix so random only McIntyre could pull it off. From Mrs Brown himself Brendan O’Carroll to Rob Brydon; Jamie Oliver to Ainsley Harriott; Barbara Windsor to Michelle Keegan, last year’s show pulled out all the stops in delivering a roaring Christmas evening treat.
This year promises just as much variety, with Mock the Week host Dara O Briain set to be joined by Barry Humphries, aka Dame Edna Everage, while Paul Zerdin also takes to the stage. Winner of the tenth series of America’s Got Talent, ventriloquist Zerdin brings his sensational act to Christmas Day for this year’s special.
It wouldn’t be a Christmas special, however, without an old guy with a white beard joining the fun. While Saint Nick may be sticking his feet up after a hard nights work, Sir Tom Jones will be providing the music for the party, with Ellie Goulding also performing.
Recorded in front of a live audience at the grand Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London, the hour long special promises a night packed with festive treats and surprises.
Laughing so much it hurts may not be ideal after all that turkey, but with Michael McIntyre’s inimitable take on Christmas it’s inevitable.
Michael McIntyre's Big Christmas Show airs on BBC One, Christmas Day, 10:25pm
