Newcastle Rugby Club are the latest team to join fundraising efforts over the lockdown period as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak.
The club’s current members are attempting to run and or cycle 2600 miles collectively for the Matt Hampson fund and they will be undertaking this challenge on Sunday 3rd May.
The Matt Hampson fund is a charity which supports young sportspeople suffering with injuries, providing support, relief and or treatment for anyone, but particularly those who have suffered from sport.
Throughout the day, the club will be providing updates on their Instagram and Twitter, providing information on their progress as they aim to reach the 2600 mile mark.
President-elect Ollie Hills said, “NURFC is a family that thrive and drive to support the rugby community in these unprecedented times.
“We will do everything we can to put smiles on faces and raise money for a prestigious foundation such as the Matt Hampson.” You can donate to the club’s cause at this link here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/nurfcmatthampson
