Our current fashion fixation: Nasty Gal

Nasty Gal, founded by Sophia Amoruso in 2006, and owned by Boohoo today, is an online fashion retailer stocking clothes for the fiercest young women out there.

If you’re looking for versatility and bold designs, then look no further: Nasty Gal may just become your new best friend.

I discovered Nasty Gal via the Netflix show Girlboss, based on Amoruso’s book of the same name, and, though the the show has since been cancelled, the company still holds a high position amongst my favourite clothing retailers. 

You name it, the company has it

While not all items actually carry the company name, it is unlikely that you could find them elsewhere, meaning that, with Nasty Gal, you’ll stand out immediately. Whatever you are looking for, be it a funky jumpsuit for a party, a new quirky slogan t-shirt for everyday wear, or perhaps a chic little dress, perfect for those more formal occasions - you name it, the company has it. And don’t even get me started on the shoes. So. Many. Shoes. Seriously, Nasty Gal stocks everything that you could possibly need, even warm winter essentials and bright holiday attire, so you can rest assured that weather will never interfere with style.

What’s more, Nasty Gal frequently collaborates with celebrities and models - Emily Ratajkowski, Cara Delevingne and Emma Louise Connolly, to name a few - to create unique collections exclusive to the company. Not only are these collections always full of interesting designs and diverse styles to appeal to individual tastes, they are also tailored to an affordable pricing range, so I can confidently say that Nasty Gal rarely breaks the budget. At this point, if you aren’t already won over, you’re about to be.

Indeed, with the audacious company name, which serves to empower young women and inspire them to fearlessly embrace their personal style, combined with the versatility of the clothing range and the affordable pricing, how could you not love Nasty Gal? My favourite thing about the company is the way that it encourages me to experiment and take risks when it comes to fashion, and the way that it makes these risks seem exciting rather than daunting. Nasty Gal doesn’t just become your new best friend, Nasty Gal becomes that older sister that pushes you to try new things and helps you find yourself - one pair of sparkly boots at a time. I’m telling you, Nasty Gal’s your girl: you can always trust her.
