Rate it or hate it: 69

It's constantly being performed in porn, but just how easy is 69 when actually put in to practice?

I’m going to have to brand 69’ing with a ‘hate’, it’s nothing personal. Tenacious D perfectly embodies my stance with their ever so eloquent lyrics, “What’s your favourite position? That’s cool with me, it’s not my favourite but I’ll do it for you.”. One pro of the move is that it truly embodies the belief that a relationship is all about give and take; why not do both!

Unfortunately, multi-tasking is hard and certainly not for everyone. It’s also hardly the most flattering or intimate move you could choose in the bedroom (or anywhere else, I don’t judge). Whoever ends up on the bottom ends up staring up at a bum hole and on top, you might see your partner's feet but not much else. As someone who has a genuine fear of feet, I’m good thanks.

You don’t get any re-shoots in real life.

Overall, I’m far too self-conscious to be in that position with someone. Even getting into position feels awkward and leads me to wonder how many black eyes is 69’ing responsible for?

Porn tries to make it look sexy and effortless, but we should all know by now that porn isn’t a true representation of sex. You don’t get any re-shoots in real life and to avoid beating around the bush, being on top is uncomfortable! Neck ache is a true mood killer and just because one move has been popularised in the media doesn’t mean you’re odd for not wanting to engage in it.

Do what makes you feel comfortable and empowered!
