Last Sunday police were called to the home of former Manchester United star and current Wales manager Ryan Giggs. Allegedly, Giggs had attacked his current girlfriend, Kate Greville, following a row over messages she had found on his iPad.

Giggs was released on bail and is denying all charges of assault.

His representatives stated: “Mr Giggs denies all allegations of assault made against him. He is cooperating with the police and will continue to assist them with their ongoing investigations."

Nevertheless, it was agreed that he would step down as manager for Wales for their next 3 games, with FAW releasing this statement,

"The Football Association of Wales and Ryan Giggs have mutually agreed that he will not be involved in the upcoming international camp. Our agreed immediate priority is preparing the team for the upcoming international matches. Robert Page, with Ryan’s support, will take charge for the next three matches against the USA, Republic of Ireland and Finland supported by Albert Stuivenberg.”

His assistant, Neil Page, has taken over the reigns temporarily and has already overseen a 0-0 draw with the USA. Page revealed that although Giggs was no longer with the squad, there was an “open line of communication” with Giggs still keeping in contact to discuss team selection, tactics and post-match analysis.
