H&M is the perfect place to shop when searching for a cheaper alternative to the more expensive high street shops, such All Saints. You can purchase your basic t-shirts and vests for the small price of around £3.99 to £7.99, as well as the dressier products, averaging at around £49.99, which are perfect for upcoming festive parties. If your budget simply doesn’t stretch much further this year, you can’t go wrong with a classic black backpack, and if it’s a gift for someone, what could they complain about?!

Winter is upon us which means boots are now a necessity in the Newcastle chill. Topshop is always a go-to for staple items like jeans and boots as you know you can always find the current trends at a reasonable price. It is also a store which is kind enough to grace us with 10% student discount, or even 20% if we’re lucky! These BAND tassel boots have a simple design that will go with anything in your wardrobe, whether it be jeans, a skirt or a dress. At £39, these suede-effect boots are very versatile as they can be worn for a number of occasions, such as a trip into uni, a shopping day around Eldon Square or a night out. The tassel zip is very “in” at the moment, with many items in our fave high -street stores embracing the trend with jackets and bags, as well as on boots. If you have a bit of cash left from September’s loan, or are simply relying on the trusty overdraft, your mum will surely be happy with you spending a bit on a good pair of winter boots.

The Design Studio
These amazing one-of-a-kind faux fur jackets from The Design Studio (TDS) are rapidly rising in the fashion industry. The mother and daughter design duo started by selling their hand-made jackets in a little store in Hawarden, before tackling the online market in September 2014. They advertise their eclectic jackets on Instagram, making only one of each design. Although they range from around £105 to £220, they are well worth the investment as you know you will never bump into anyone on around campus wearing the same jacket as you! You can pick up one of these jackets from the TDS website, from a small selection of around 15-20 individual designs at a time. If you see one you like, don’t hang about as once they’re gone, they’re gone. Once they’ve all been snapped up, it can usually take around a month for a new range to become available, so grab one before your dream jacket is never to be seen again.
