Poco - Elliot Clark

One of the cutest and engaging point-and-click games I have played in a while. It follows a 2-inch tall clown trying to navigate his way round a wasteland of junk, using a mix of 2D and 3D assets, a charming soundtrack and best of all: it's free.

Hollow Knight: Silksong - Anna Lewis

While I almost wish it had been something slightly less obviously popular, there is no denying the facts (my playtime and the amount I've talked the ear off of various people in my life) that all point towards my personal game of the year - Hollow Knight: Silksong. As someone only a few months clear of playing through its predecessor, this follow-up was everything I needed and more with its riveting boss fights, titillating exploration and carefully unravelling story.

Deltarune Chapter's Three and Four - Emily-Maisy Milburn (Gaming Sub-Editor)

One of the most anticipated releases, Toby Fox's episodic game Deltarune released two instalments this year and they were everything I could have hoped for and more. Following the adventures of Kris, Ralsei and Suzy in the dark world, Deltarune Chapters Three and Four up the ante with creative and innovative boss fights, a vibrant roster of NPC's and most importantly, a kick ass soundtrack (Black Knife and Feature Ruder Buster are my faves.)
