"I thought I was going to see theatre, I think I may have accidentally seen art." Those where my first words as I left NUGSS's production of Princess Ida. It was fun, it was flirty and by god - it was the campest thing I've ever seen in my life.

With the classic piece of Victorian theatre being reprised for its fifth showing by the Gilbert and Sullivan society since their formation in 1952, this time being set in a university in the 1920s. The show ran for three days and featured a plethora of talented students demonstrating how talented and how hard they had all worked on the production.

Stand out moments from the show include: the title character drowning through interpretive dance, the trio of male characters trying to break into the university by incorrectly wearing graduation robes and having to stay like that for the whole show and the surgeon coming onto stage in a lab coat (fishnets and nothing else). As well as so many more moments which made this a side-splitting emotional watch with great music, dancing and drama!
