Paul walked on in a gaudy manner to the iconic Phil Collins track, the commentators acknowledged his “lavishness” through his trunks which were one million dollars themselves. Tyson walked on alone, attempting to create a dark and broody atmosphere which did work to an extent until you saw the tired man next to the young Paul.
The fight started with a hopeful bang, Tyson seemed to be in a great spot despite his age and was managing to dodge and move quite well. However, Tyson was clipped by a sharp right to the head, clearly knocking him off his game. The fight carried on and got harder to watch as during the second round, which felt suddenly bereft of intent, Paul lands a trio of quick, nasty punches that pushed the former heavyweight champion further down.
The fight cruised on with little bangs, Paul lapped Tyson and Tyson just couldn't keep up any longer. A quiet and frankly uncomfortable atmosphere soaked the stadium, a stark contrast to the previous fight between Taylor and Serrano. Booing started to fill the noise during the last two rounds as it settled on people that this fight was never going to be fair, Tyson in his prime would’ve KO'd Paul within the first half, but now Tyson is older - Paul had the clear advantage.
Tyson had clearly worked out the defeat as he stood waiting for the calling, the crowd continued to boo and even headed for the exit before the calling. 120 Million people viewed the fight and the overall consensus on social media is that it was an unfair and frankly unmoral fight, stating that Paul was basically trying to knock out a grandad who struggled to even walk a straight line.
