I used to believe that we can predict the future using our dreams and dream interpretation dictionaries. While this is not the case and the dictionaries aren’t always right, our dreams do have a special meaning. We all dream when we enter the state of rapid eye movement, whether we remember it or not. Analysing our dreams correctly, we can get an insight into what our brain is trying to tell us.

Having a baby

For some a dream; for others a nightmare. Either way, having a baby is said to represent a new chapter in your life that is just beginning. It may be connected to really starting a family, a developing relationship or a new job. I had such a dream when I started university.

Dying

Although death is viewed negatively in the normal world, such a dream doesn’t necessarily have to be. Dying in a dream means that there’s a change in your life and your attitude towards death is the same as towards the change. You may be scared or feel peace, be ready for something new.

Taking a test

We all have experienced dreading an exam, some to such an extent that it even appeared in our dreams. Even though it may really mean that we’re just stressed out about the certain exam, it could also mean that we‘re scared of failure in general or we worry what others think about us.

Falling

Falling seems to be a common theme of our dreams. It could indicate that we feel hopeless and out of control in our own life. It is also thought that to fight such dreams, we should let go and relax more in real life.

It is important to note that dreams are very individual and the meanings vary from person to person, so while interpretation dictionaries may help with our analysis, we shouldn’t take them too seriously.
