This year’s Strictly has certainly had its fair share of drama, from Katya’s fall to shock eliminations (I’m personally still grieving the departure of Michelle Visage). However, the stunning Strictly style has remained constant throughout the series, and this year is no different.

The opening week of this years Strictly was welcomed by many as the nights begin to draw in. I must admit that I was slightly jealous of all the outfits this week, especially since the temperature has dropped. My favourite look this week, however, was Anneka’s - the allusion to her ‘Challenge Anneka’ days certainly added an additional flare to her outfit this week. She adopted a sophisticated style for her ‘Cha Cha Cha’ and whilst she failed to impress the judges with her dance, she most definitely impressed the nation with her costume. This week was quickly followed by week 2, which saw the first brutal elimination. We also saw Michelle‘s Italian inspired dress. It incorporated the red, green and white of the Italian flag.

Movie Week is always a showcase of beautiful crafted constructed and this year was no different. My personal favourite outfit this week were Dev and Diane’s Aladdin inspired costumes. Likewise, Halloween week also provided us with creative costumes. All of the costumes were impressive, but Michelle and Giovanni’s dance played homage to The Addam’s Family, and so their outfits were particularly clever. Their outfits screamed halloween and so are one of my favourites from the entire series.

I would go as far as to say that Emma Barton’s dress from her waltz in week four is my favourite of the whole series. The soft grey ball gown reflected the somber mood of the dance and with every turn, the jewels would glimmer in the studio lights. Similarly, Saffron’s dress for her waltz in week 8 also stole the show. The contrast between the nude material and the red flowers creates a beautiful dress, that added to a beautiful dance.

Week five saw Alex come into her own with her charismatic Charleston. Both her and Neil donned black and white suits. The simplicity of the outfits contributed to the dance, to create a flawless and effortless routine.

Emma’s dress in week nine mimicked the sophistication and glamour of the Blackpool Ballroom. Not only did we get to see Emma’s elegant dress, we also got to witness Anton achieve his first ever 10s!!

Despite only being part way through, this series of Strictly Come Dancing has provided us with a range of outfits, all of which, deserve 10s.
