January 10th 2025

• The Last Showgirl. Directed by Gia Coppola.

The latest director in the Coppola dynasty, granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola and niece of Sofia, tells the story of a retired showgirl, portrayed by Pamela Anderson.

AND

• Babygirl. Directed by Halina Reijn.

This 'erotic thriller' debuted earlier this year, and stars Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson.

February 14th 2025

• Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy. Directed by Michael Morris.

Almost ten years after the Bridget Jones's Baby, Renee Zellweger, Hugh Grant and Colin Firth return to our screens on Valentines day for this rom-com.

March 21st 2025

• Snow White. Directed by Marc Webb

Finally. It feels as though we've been hearing about Disney's latest live adaptation for years; and it finally hits our screens in March. Starring Letterboxd's sweetheart, Rachel Zegler, the film has already faced much criticism - it is the 'most disliked teaser' on YouTube. I for one, am excited to see if the film lives up to the hate.

April 4th 2025

• A Minecraft Movie. Directed by Jared Hubbs

Plans for this film are over ten years in the making, and tells the story of four friends who get sucked into the 'Overworld.'

April 18th 2025

• Mickey 17. Directed by Bong Joon-ho

Joon-ho's newest film stars Robert Pattinson, and the whole world awaits in anticipation as our expectations fall high following Parasite.

May 30th 2025

• Karate Kid: Legends. Directed by Jonathan Entwistle

The seventh film in the Karate Kid franchise sees a return to the original story and stars Jackie Chan.

June 6th 2025

• From the World of John Wick: Ballerina. Directed by Len Wiseman

Starring Ana De Armas, this John Wick spinoff tells the tale of a ballerina training as an assassin.

June 20th 2025

• 28 Years Later. Directed by Danny Boyle

The third film in the trilogy, 15 years after 28 Weeks Later stars Cillian Murphy and is filmed entirely on an iPhone 15 Pro Max.

June 27th 2025

• F1. Directed by Joseph Kosinski

This film tells the story of fictional Sonny Hayes, played by Brad Pitt as he tackles his retirement from the sport. While fictional, all ten F1 teams will feature, and drivers such as Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr. will appear as themselves.

August 8th 2025

• The Battle of Baktan Cross. Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson

Although we know little about this film, other than it stars Leonardo DiCaprio, PTA's tenth film is expected to be a hit.

September 26th 2025

• The Bride. Directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Gyllenhaals second feature film is a remake of the 1935 Bride of Frankenstein, and stars The Dark Knight co-star Christian Bale.

November 14th 2025

• Now You See Me 3. Directed by Ruben Fleischer

Nine years since the last instalment in the series, it will be interesting to see how the trilogy has aged.

November 21st 2025

• Wicked Part Two. Directed by Jon M. Chu

Almost a year after the part one, the second part of the musical tackles the friendship of Elphaba and Glinda in a post "Defying Gravity" world.

December 19th 2025

• Avatar: Fire and Ash. Directed by James Cameron

The latest instalment in the franchise looks like it will have another three hour run time.

• Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. Directed by Rian Johnson.

Of course starring Daniel Craig, with an ensemble cast featuring Josh O'Connor, Mila Kunis and Cailee Spaeny, 2025 is a year for third instalments as we see the latest Knives Out Mystery come to Netflix.
