With a new year of university commencing whether you’re wanting to bond with your course-mates, flatmates or the new friends you just invited to your afters, Nintendo consoles have always been such a fun and useful tool to bring people together. From the original smash bros on the N64, Your own olympics on wii sports and recently Mario Kart on the switch 1 or 2.
Nintendo have always tried to make consoles that are easy to use and family friendly. This makes it ideal for your university flat since these friends could be your found family and who doesn’t love a healthy competition.
Also, due to the switch’s portability it can be great to have with you on campus if you’re looking for a quick relaxing break in between lectures or playing it on your commute from Jesmond.
The switch is also great for replaying any older games which is perfect if your feeling home sick and feel like playing something you used to watch your older siblings play on the ps3 or xbox360.

Even if you don’t own a switch or think buying one could be too expensive, any games console Nintendo have put out could be a great addition to your university accommodation. The Nintendo Wii should be fairly cheap on the second hand market so don’t be afraid to pool yours and your flatmates money together and invest in some classic Wii sports or Mario kart Wii.
Also don’t be afraid to take your skills online if your friends are too busy. If your mates are too busy at the library or in a lecture see how good you play against other players from around the world or add said friends on your switch so you can play anytime, anywhere.l
