Marvels Rivals is coming! In a world where Dr Doom and his 2099 future self collide in the multiverse, it is up to everyone in the aforementioned Marvel multiverse to team up. The PVP shooter allows players to team up your favourite heroes and villains to defeat Dr Doom (both of them) before he achieves universal domination. But with such freedom, and a total of 18 characters to play with, who is getting the call for our dream roster? So, in no particular order, we have…
Groot – whatever form he is in, baby or adult, Groot is not only lethal in battle, but a loyal, team player.
Spiderman – yes, okay, he is my favourite Marvel hero. But can you argue with his power after Spiderman: No Way Home? We all need a friendly neighbourhood Spiderman on our team.
Nightcrawler – as a mutant, he understands the importance of fighting for what is right. Plus, he can teleport and do some other really cool stuff!
Dr Strange – his connection to the dark arts might actually come in handy this time.
Deadpool – an invincible guy with incredible aim. I’m convinced!
Wolverine – mildly influenced by the upcoming film, Wolverine may be an independent fighter, but we all need more wolfy/Deadpool action.
Scarlet Witch – remember when she nearly killed Thanos in Avengers: Endgame? Of course the strongest Avenger is on our team.
Loki – in his original villain era, or saviour of the sacred timeline, the God of Mischief can use his magic to save the day.
Iron Man – Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist. Enough said.
Thanos – just because I’m genuinely terrified of the mad Titan…
Captain Marvel – with powers from the tesseract, and a namesake for the team, Carol would bring the strong female energy to the team.
Magneto – I’ve been watching X-Men ’97 and despite my anger towards this metal wielding mutant, if you want a villain on the team, it’s this guy! Just maybe don’t team him up with Tony Stark…
Rocket – the little trickster with a love for guns. There’ll be plenty of game play for this guy.
Daredevil – a vigilante with incredible senses and fighting for what’s right. Why wouldn’t you want Matt Murdock on your side?
She-Hulk – despite what you might think of the TV series, Jen is just better in every way. At least she doesn’t need a lullaby, unlike Bruce Banner!
Black Panther – in homage to Chadwick Boseman, let’s portray this incredible hero with the power and credibility he deserves.
Ant-Man – for when you need someone who can jump through keyholes, or stamp on you. The best of both worlds!
Captain America – and finally, Captain Steve Rogers. He is worthy after all…
