The two-time Emmy-winning actress's legacy lingers with an array of iconic films. Home Alone, Beetlejuice (where she met her husband, production designer Bo Welch, on set) and Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events alone reflect her colossal impact in the world of film, her acting ranging from unmissable comedy to a heart-warming touch.

Most recently, O’Hara was recognised for her part in The Last of Us as Gail the therapist, leading her to work closely with Pedro Pascal, who most recently commented on her passing in his own tribute, expressing how "there is less light in my world."  It's clear Catherine's bubbly and charismatic personality beamed through, and her own philosophy that “in life, there is nothing better than laughing, especially a laugh when you most need it" is a true testament to how she lived her own life.

Her roles also included an acclaimed comeback in Schitt’s Creek as the character “Moira Rose”, eventually resulting in her winning her second Emmy in 2020.

His own devastation was evident through the screen.

Often taking up roles as a comforting character, her motherly role in “Home Alone” seems to be more than a part in which she played. Revealed in the New York Times that Culkin still refers to her as “Mom”, her impact on the cast can be seen as nothing but profound with Macaulay Culkin paying his own respects on Instagram with the comment “Mama. I thought we had time. I wanted more.” His own devastation was evident through the screen.

Whilst the cause of her death has not yet been released, if one thing is for certain, Catherine will forever leave a lasting impact on the film industry and its viewers, but most dearly remembered by her husband, Bo Welch and their sons, Matthew and Luke.
