After the summer break, the club’s success has continued into the 2022/23 season. Taking 12 points from the well-established teams at University of Nottingham, Leeds Beckett and Northumbria University, NU Futsal has secured its place in the 2023/24 BUCS Premier North competition and cemented itself as a competitive futsal team within the division.
On top of the men’s first team, the women’s team also look set to continue their achievements in the 2022/23 season. Currently at the top of the league 21/24 points and beating Northumbria twice, the women’s team look set to win the league and have a strong cup run again this year.
The men’s 2s look set to continue building on the squad depth and are constantly looking add new players. After maintaining the league position last year, the aim is to continue challenging other teams in the league and maintain a developmental standard to progress into the first team. The second team is the perfect place for new students to come and try out futsal.
In addition intramural is a great social space for students to meet likeminded active people. We have a great community of players Friday 4-6pm for students who want to keep fit and engage in the wider life of university, with the opportunity to take the sport more serious if they wish to do so.
