Amy Adams is back with her fairy-tale charm! The most awaited sequel of the decade is finally here with its original cast of Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel, and James Marsden and also stars Maya Rudolph, Gabriella Baldacchino, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Jayma Mays. It is directed by Adam Shankman and features new songs from Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz.
Just like in Enchanted, where Giselle traversed from the fairy-tale haven of Andalasia to the concrete jungle of New York, Giselle is now on a new journey with Robert and her little family to Monroeville, a quiet suburb. She then encounters Malvina Monroe, the established leader of the place, and runs into a series of obstacles she hasn’t expected. Regardless of the setbacks that are presented to her, Giselle is determined to create the fairy-tale land that she’s always wanted.
The previews display vibrant and colorful special effects and also your favorite little chipmunk, Pip... Who can talk now? We also see the evergreen Prince Charming, King Edward, and his beautiful Queen, Nancy. You can’t forget the stellar soundtrack from enchanted, and now disenchanted presents a magnificent new set of fairytale-Esque tunes.
We also see an interesting shift in Giselle’s character. Certain about creating her happily ever after, we view a goal-oriented Giselle that is not as soft and calm as in the previous film. Witnessing Giselle changing from a naïve little princess to an opportunistic and presumably wicked stepmother is the biggest twist the trailer has shared so far.
Disenchanted is set to be out for streaming on Disney+ from November 24. I can’t wait to see how our dear characters have changed over the past 15 years. Excellent music, vibrant costumes, delectable drama, and extreme emotions are set and ready for this winter season with the release of Disenchanted!
