Winner: Charli xcx
Charli stormed the BRITs, taking home five awards including as Album of the Year and Song of the Year for ‘Guess’, which was famous for its music video containing over 10,000 pairs of underwear! Charli is a deserved winner, after painting summer 2024 brat green, it makes sense she was the overall winner of the night.
Loser: The prudish British public
Prudes beware. Ofcom was said to have received over 800 complaints from the night associated with two pop culprits’ clothing and suggestive nature. Any GUESSes? Charli’s see-through dress and Sabrina’s raunchy performance certainly caused a stir, but they were winners of the night, leaving the losers as those who felt the need to complain!
Winner: Ezra Collective
The British jazz quintet won Group of the Year, but the real win was their explosive performance that closed the BRITs 2025. Jorja Smith joined them for a mash-up that clearly displayed their musical talent, particularly that of trumpeter Ife Ogunjobi.
Loser: Dua Lipa
Losing best pop act, artist, and album of the year all to Charli must have been a blow to Dua Lipa. After headlining Glastonbury last summer, it feels as if Dua Lipa has lost popularity, and the release of her new album Radical Optimism has been covered in the shadow of Charli’s BRAT. Sorry Dua Lipa, but this was not your night.
Winner: Myles Smith
Best Rising Star is a promising title indicating this is just the beginning for up-and-coming artist Myles Smith. Previous winners include Adele and Sam Fender suggesting we will hear more hits like ‘Nice to Meet You’ in the coming years.
To summarise, the BRITs was an eventful night full of shocking wardrobes and interesting guests such as a woman dressed as a horse (look up HorsegiirL). Charli xcx took the crown for the BRITs 2025 but lesser-known artists such as Ezra Collective and Myles Smith have given us a taste of what to expect moving forwards. Who knows what the BRITs 2026 will bring!
