When I started this piece, I knew it would be imperative that I’d have to curate an outfit to survive the winter season, as we all know the up north weather tends to be less than forgiving. I wanted to showpiece a fit that would not only embody my style but that I’d also be able to battle the cold weather in.

One thing I massively struggle with throughout all seasons is dressing for the weather.

One thing I massively struggle with throughout all seasons is dressing for the weather. At twenty-two years of age, I am still attempting to grasp the art of styling pieces that either wouldn’t make me sweat my ass off, or leave me shivering on the brink of hyperthermia. Forgive me when I state, that styling accordingly to weather is a true skill (forgive me, med students).

This is why the outfit you see styled here provides all the necessary assets for everything from a date night in an outdoor heated bar to a simple university fit for those seminars where the open windows to allow circulation catch your nerves. I can understand the Covid prevention strategies, but one would think the university wants us to catch our death!

In the outfit styles, I’ve pared a prettylittlething chocolate fluffy knitted co-ord leggings and halter neck top. Words cannot describe how incredibly warm this material is, I felt as if I was wearing a full-blown teddy bear! I was astonished that I managed to bag this staple co-ord at the bargain price of £28. I’ll not lie when I wholeheartedly admit seeing myself roll up to a 9 am lecture after sleeping in this co-ord, it’s that comfy. Words can’t describe what a godsend this current fluffy knit trend is. You see, what’s key to remember about this co-ord, pared with this puff sleeve trench coat from ASOS is, whilst it keeps me warm, its short crop sleeves also ensure that I won’t overheat in this outfit. It pains me to see countless Black Friday shoppers swarming about town in their sweaters and jeans, red-faced from their inability to breathe in the humidity of the shops, with their puffer jackets draped over their arms, practically weighing them down throughout the whole experience.

Another key thing to note about this fit, with the right accessories, here paired with some sour cherry face earrings (support your local businesses people) and a gold chain, this outfit can be both dressed up with a strappy pair of nude heels, or even dressed down with a chunky pair of dad trainers.
