First thing to do is grab a jacket. By the time evening starts to roll around you may feel drained and ready for the day to end so it is vital to replenish your energy whether this means having a warm cup of coffee (preferably earlier on in the day but I won't tell) or keeping a sweet treat in your bag for long days.
The key to engaging in lectures, societies etc is to combat any obstacles. After all, you want to pass that exam, meet new friends and make the most of being a student.
However, in the moment your bed seems to be flirting with you. Best to dedicate specific times to relax and replenish your energy so you can engage with your learning and hobbies the rest of the time.
Downtime is important, and if built into your timetable both the security of knowing you have regular breaks and giving your brain a break may make the more difficult parts of your day less daunting.
Of course, the more enjoyable you make autumn nights the less your tasks will feel like a chore but rather something you want to attend and engage in.
Sitting beside friends can make attending lectures a fun experience. You can keep each other accountable and when given the time to discuss a topic, being comfortable will those around you will also improve your learning.
So save a space in your lectures for your friends, in your timetable for your extracurriculars, and in your bag for a sweet treat.
And if you'll excuse me, I need to go make a coffee so I can attend my 5pm lecture.
