As it starts getting colder, we look to comfort food to warm us up. Newcastle boasts some amazing independent restaurants, cafes and food on the go that is certain to get you feeling cosy, warm and autumnal. So, dig out your fluffy jumper and explore everything the city has to offer!

Coffee Yolo: Located at the entrance to STACK (which actually has loads to offer) you will find this little café. Serving all your favourite hot drinks, including pumpkin spiced lattes. They also do a range of hot sandwiches and sweet treats. This place is popular with students and it is dog friendly! So relax with all your nearest and dearest, overlooking the city centre.

Grainger Market: There are loads of vendors to explore here and plenty of independent eateries to try this autumn, including Pet Lamb Patisserie, French Oven bakery and Redhead’s Mac and Cheese. It is a pretty historic building with some one-of-a-kind finds and a casual feel, so be sure to check it out.

This place has a warm atmosphere with endless fairy lights and an actual tree in the middle…what could be cosier?
