Cosy Valentine's Day looks

You don't always have to be glammed up for Valentine's Day, so here are some cosy outfits

Pyjamas? On.

Oodie? On.

In bed? By 9pm.

That’s how my Valentine’s Day is looking, and honestly, I’m happy about it.

As someone who definitely doesn’t have a date, my Valentine’s Day looks aren’t going to be anything out of the ordinary. I’ll be wearing my usual clothes – why should I dress up just because it happens to be Valentine’s Day…especially if I have nowhere to go anyway? You should only dress up if you want to, not because society tells us we should.

Starting off strong – daytime fashion. No doubt I’ll be wearing my trusty H&M jeans and one of my many hoodies; just like all other 364 days of the year. Maybe I’ll switch it up and wear a jumper or cardigan instead, and who knows which colour of hoodie I’ll pull out of the overly-crowded drawer? Despite having a clothes clear-out last month, my hoodie drawer refuses to close. Which is maybe down to my mantra that says, “a person can never have too many hoodies”. But they’re just so cosy. Will I pick a green hoodie for Valentine’s Day? Red? Purple? Light blue? Dark blue? The possibilities really are endless.

It's safe to say that the moment I get home, the jeans will be swapped for a pair of trusty trackie bottoms. It doesn’t matter if I’m staying in the house for the rest of the day, or just an hour, the jeans need to be taken off. Regardless of how comfortable they have been whilst I’ve been out, as soon as I step through my front door, they become the most uncomfortable item of clothing I’ve ever worn, and they must be removed for a softer alternative…immediately! I might also change into a different hoodie once I’m home if I feel like treating myself.

Then, as soon as I’ve had my tea, it’s time for a swift change into my pyjamas and oodie. One of the best decisions I made last autumn was to purchase my oodie: it really carried me through winter, living in a cold student house where the boiler was constantly on the blink. I cannot advocate for oodies enough; there’s never a day when I regret buying mine.

And that’s it, my Valentine’s Day looks complete. Nothing particularly amazing to anyone else, but perfect in my eyes. As much as I love getting dressed up, I will always prefer wearing outfits that are comfy, cosy, yet oh so totally chic!
