After the second round against New Zealand in the Taini Jamison Trophy, England's Vitality Roses were riding the victory to the very end. With beating their iconic rivals twice already to secure the trophy, the Vitality Roses had one more opportunity to secure a clean sweep against the New Zealand Silver Ferns. After the second round against the ferns, the Vitality Roses secured the trophy for the first time since 2021.

England's head coach introduced a new starting seven for the final round, in hopes of securing their clean sweep with an even greater lead than previous. Razia Quashie started in Goal Keeper (GK) and Ellie Rattu in Wing Défense (WD), the Silver Ferns opposition was Grace Nweke in Goal Shooter (GS). In traditional Silver Ferns nature, they began with an early lead ending the first quarter with 18-16. After a loose ball from the Vitality Roses centre, the Silver Ferns took control of the court and crowed alike, slowing the Vitality Roses from closing the gap. However, it wasn't a clean quarter for the Silver Ferns. GS Grace Nweke was called for contact against England, returning possession back to the Vitality Roses. Unfortunately though, this wasn't the opportunity they needed to secure the lead back from New Zealand.

As the second quarter began, things took a worse turn for England as Imogen Allison left the court after an injury, leaving Ellie Rattu to take over Centre (C). Although pressure from the Vitality Roses was exceptional as they began their attack, it wasn't enough to cause the Silver Ferns to fumble. As the half time buzzer went with a score of 38-32, fans of the Silver Ferns grew more confident that the clean sweep they were so fearful of would be over. As the penultimate quarter began, tensions began to rise as both teams chose to make no changed to their players. England's Housby and Tchine in Goal Attack and Goal Shooter stood up to the Silver Ferns under their immense pressure to take the score to 39-36, starting to close the gap once again. The work from the Vitality Roses in this quarter stood out from the two previous, ending the fifteen minutes with just one goal between the teams.

With the final fifteen minutes beginning, the idea of a clean sweep against New Zealand was not yet out of the picture. While England was lifting the Taini Jamison Trophy regardless of the outcome of the game, the players had to make sure the final quarter looked more like the one previous. Despite all efforts, the final buzzer went with a score of 61-56 to the Silver Ferns.

While this was not the clean sweep fans of the Vitality Roses had been dreaming of, their efforts to win the trophy are worth more than the success another victory. England's captain Fran Williams claimed "It’s so special for us as a nation to be able to come here and win the series in the first two tests." Although unsuccessful against New Zealand in the third round, the Taini Jamison Trophy will go down in history for England's Vitality Roses.
