After a three-year hiatus, Euphoria, an iconic and beloved show, has begun shooting again. As of February 10th, 2025, production is up and running again in Los Angeles after years of the season being pushed back due to COVID, creative disagreements, and outside projects. So, what can we expect this next season?

After such a long break many have wondered if the main characters would make their way back to the show. Many of the actors, such as Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney, have risen within the film world during this break, leaving audiences questioning if a teen show would still fit in their fame journey.

For example, Elordi recently starred in Saltburn and Priscilla, both earning him high praise in more serious roles. Similarly, Sweeney appeared in Anyone But You, another film hit. A huge break paired with such success can make it difficult for these actors to return, but thankfully these two, along with a majority of the original cast, will be returning.

Main cast actors returning include: Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, and Dominic Fike. Additionally, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agaje, and Toby Wallace will now return as regulars. Colman Domingo will also return as a guest periodically.

While much of the cast is returning, a few members will not make their way back to the set. Most notably, main cast character “Kat”, played by Barbie Ferreira, will not return due to creative differences, as she does not believe there is more to be explored with her character. Furthermore, fan-favorite “Fezco” will not be returning as the actor, Angus Cloud has tragically passed. Additionally, Storm Reid, Algee Smith, Nike King, and Austin Abrams will not be returning for unknown reasons.

As many actors stay and a few leave, there will be a few actors joining the cast this season. Notable additions include Spanish pop singer, Rosalia, and previously American Football player, Marshawn Lynch. Rosalia notes that she “couldn’t be happier and more grateful to be acting alongside all of these incredibly talented people.” Lynch has recently stepped further into the film world, acting in Bottoms and Love Hurts, and is “hella juiced about the show.”

After seeing the impact of the glittery and colorful makeup from past seasons, it will be interesting to see if season three will once again create trends in the beauty world.

A lot of anticipation has built up with the hiatus, making audiences contemplate if this season will be worth the break. So far little is known about the plot but the creators have indicated that this season will take place years later after high school. Being that the characters will be grown-ups, the show’s makeup artist, Donni Davy, says that the makeup this season will be “more refined” and “more toned down.”

After seeing the impact of the glittery and colorful makeup from past seasons, it will be interesting to see if season three will once again create trends in the beauty world. Anything past these details remains a mystery. Despite the little information provided, Domingo notes in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that he thinks “it’s going to be incredible” as it “goes into some deeper story.”

While the Head of HBO, Francesca Orsi, has not confirmed that this will be the last season, it will likely be. Yet, she believes the audience “will be very satisfied with this season.”  After such success and this comment, loyal watchers are keeping a keen eye as production continues and they wait for the expected release of eight episodes in 2026.
