This week had highs and lows, from Brazilian Jui Jitsu and Thai Boxing tasters to carcinogenic modules and flat tires.
I spent my Tuesday in lectures and dissecting a brain, and that evening in the Philip Robinson library planning my first podcast episode. After hosting my own radio show with NSR last year, I'm looking forward to starting a podcast about the perspectives of Kurdish youth.
Come Wednesday and it was the Kurdish Society's first social. Hosting this society has undoubtedly been a highlight of my journey at Newcastle.
On Thursday I went to Tynemouth for sunrise pilates with a friend. I've been going alone over summer and waking up for those 5am alarms has been amazing - as crazy as it may sound. I even spotted dolphins one morning.
This slow start to the day; doing pilates and reading my book, is very precious to me. As a student, I love the balance between the peace of the beach and the hustle of the city.
Saturday was my day off, dedicated to a weekly Lidl shop of course, and a day of work on Sunday before returning to lectures.
Indeed, as fun as my week has been, there have also been emotional and challenging days. For now, I'm grateful for the highs and lows of student life - and for the Newcastle that I've come to call home.
