Whilst key details of the story line have been kept under wraps it's safe to say that Fast X is continuing the franchise's long history of producing chaotic yet somewhat comforting cinema. The 4-minute-trailer follows the Toretto gang facing off with new villain 'Dante' in Rome, as they maintain their legacy of blowing up capital cities and multiple forms of infrastructure.
However, I am most excited to see where the obvious chemistry goes between fan favourite Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriquez) and newcomer Tess (Brie Larson) - or whether they’ll stick to the usual trope of setting up perfect enemies to lovers then ignoring it completely in the sequel.
Regardless of the overt plot holes and the slightly unrealistic expectations of cars: the penultimate film in the Fast and Furious franchise is still expected to earn over $1 billion US dollars at the box office and will set up what is expected to be a cathartic ending to over two decades of films.
