Lockdown is tough. And keeping yourself happy and fulfilled during all this is even tougher. Whilst some days can be harder than others, there's always something you can do to boost your mood.

I think all of us can agree the past year has made it hard to think positive about anything. Endless uncertainty has taken my motivation down to a zero. Although, through this crisis I have found more ways than ever to pass the time.

Here are some tasks you can take on at home to get that happy feeling!

1. Baking and Cooking

Wether you're a total beginner or an experienced chef, it's always fun to try and bake new things and find some brand new recipes. Not only will it sharpen your skills, it's a cathartic pastime that always makes me happy. My creation have involved the infamous feta pasta from TikTok as well as garlic breadsticks.

The TikTok feta pasta recipe has taken over the internet.
2. Yoga

This isn't something I do personally, but the calming benefits of yoga are universally recognised. It takes no time to find a YouTube tutorial for a quick session. Even if its just half an hour, you could find your mood to be significantly boosted.

3. Mindfulness

In recent years, the use of mindfulness apps such as Calm and Headspace have completely soared - and it's for a good reason! If you ever find yourself stuck in a bit of a hard place, its so relaxing to meditate and just take a couple of minutes to yourself.

4. Watch your comfort movies and shows

This is one I'm definitely guilty of. I always seem to have either The Simpsons on repeat or one of the Marvel films. There's something so comforting about my favourite movies and shows that always calms me down. If you're having a rough day, and don't feel like leaving bed, I promise this will help.

Remember that throughout this crisis, everyone is out of their flow. Try and stay as positive as you can and do something happy every single day!
