In my opinion, a final uni meal needs to have 3 key elements- lots of wine, your favourite foods from the Toon, and a kickass dessert, followed by emotional toasts. You and your friends could even choose to do a “takeout potluck”! Each and every person decides to bring a big portion of their favourite takeout from the city, get together and crack open a few bottles of wine, and get nostalgic about the time you all spent with each other.

Another great idea is to have a dinner crawl throughout the city! I would start at Motel Mexicana or Colonel Porter's for some cocktails to kick-start the night. To be fair, you could even head to All Bar One or the Botanist if you want to go somewhere sophisticated. Then, you could grab some good filling grub at Chilli Padi, Fat Hippo or My Delhi. For food, Newcastle has too many good options, so it all depends on your personal preferences and the kind of cuisine you are looking for!

Regardless of where you choose to eat, I would highly recommend heading to NQ64 for a quick round of games and drinks to give yourself a breather in-between meals. But, one thing you absolutely cannot miss, is getting a shawarma from Tarboosh to end your night out in the perfect, most savoury way!
On the other hand, you could always choose to have a laid back but fancy meal at upscale restaurants like Victors, Dobson and Parnell, or Khai Khai by the Quayside, so that you can enjoy a wonderful gourmet meal with your friends, over a round of delectable cocktails!
Personally, I know exactly what my friends and I are going to be doing for our final uni meal together. We are all going to order Wingstop and pizza from Firestone or Dough Daze, I’m going to make my signature New York-style cheesecake, and my friends are going to bake some sweet treats, and we are all going to get sentimental over the many, many bottles of wine and probably play Ring of Fire.
To make things interesting, you could always set a food theme for the night! My personal favourite is ‘Food that made me enter another dimension’! The tastier, the better! Honestly, it’s your last night all together, so make it count! Because it doesn’t matter where you go and what you make, as all that matters is that you have your uni gang to share it with.
