Fraser Anderson, previously the Deputy CEO at The Glasshouse, has been appointed as permanent Chief Executive after six months as Interim CEO.

He follows Abigail Pogson, who left the center late last year after being appointed as CEO at the Barbican Centre in London.

Since then, Fraser has acted as Interim CEO until a “comprehensive and highly competitive recruitment process” led to his full-time appointment.

Fraser has worked in cultural organisations for over 20 years.

Fraser has worked in cultural organisations for over 20 years. Following a degree in arts management, Fraser has worked with Donmar Warehouse, London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, eventually going on to become the Chief Executive of Scottish Ensemble.

Fraser said that “it’s a priveledge to be appointed Chief Executive of The Glasshouse.” He said that “artists, audiences, and our brilliant team have created a place for music that combines creative excellence with a strong sense of community and belonging.”

In terms of his plans for the future, Fraser said that “we are already making next-phase plans to work with artists on live events, festivals and residencies. A growing Music Academy is expanding what we can offer young people... and our commitment to making what we do available to as many different people as possible is unwavering.”

He combines a deep understanding of The Glasshouse with a clear vision for the future...

Andy Haldane, Chair of the Glasshouse said that “Fraser has demonstrated exceptional leadership during his time as Interim CEO. He combines a deep understanding of The Glasshouse with a clear vision for the future... Fraser is well placed to ensure The Glasshouse continues to play a leading role.”

The Glasshouse opened in 2004 and since then has hosted over 10,000 performances and welcomed nearly 8 million visitors.

In 2026 it has and will continue to host performances from across the genres and hold community programmes for people across the region.

The Glasshouse says that alongside this, they are continuing to grow their audiences, invest in its building to explore new ways to use its space, and expand on opportunities for young people.
