According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), on average every two minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. However, there are over 3.8 million cancer survivors in the United States alone.
This figure has the potential to increase through raising vital funds for charities and health services that aim to combat the disease.
Amazingly, the gaming community can do their part in the fight against breast cancer by playing and streaming the games we love. Through the NBCF’s charity campaign, Game Pink, gamers, streamers and content creators are able to raise funds by doing what they love.
The NBCF state: “Join Game Pink by streaming what you love… rally your followers to help fundraise to provide life-saving breast health services to those facing a breast cancer diagnosis.”
Streamers are given the opportunity to stream their gaming on two platforms, Tiltify or Streamlabs, and they can stay updated on the campaign by joining the Game Pink Discord.
Famous streamers have previously used their large following to raise vital funds for a multitude of causes. Famously in 2021, the charity project, Z Event, created by popular streamers, ZeratoR and Dach, raised $11.7 million for a number of charities that help with a number of issues. ZeratoR and Dach successfully brought together French streamers to raise funds whilst hosting all their content on the streaming platform, Twitch.
